How much do you cost?
Our standard rate is $1075.00 + GST for up to 8 hours of playing time on Saturdays from May 1st to December 31st. We offer a reduced rate of $925.00 from Sunday to Friday, as well as Saturdays from January to April.
As well, there are many venues that have in-house sound systems, call for special prices for Liberty Grand and the Rosewater as well as Palais Royale, The Eglinton Grand and Capiton Event Theatre. In addition to venues with sound systems there are other exceptions that may adjust our fee. Please call us with the specifics of your event and we will always quote you the best price we can!
Is there a deposit?
A $300.00 deposit is required once you sign your contract. You may choose to pay the balance on your wedding day or in advance.
Can I pay a lower fee if I request less time?
No. Once we're booked for your event, we cannot be at another that day. Be assured, our fee offers more time and flexibility than many DJ services.
When do you set up?
We make sure your 8 hours are strictly for playing time. If your reception is, for example, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (8 hours), we will set up during the hour prior to our start time.
What flexibility does your package include?
We include a cordless microphone and stand at no extra charge if requested. We don't charge for wedding ceremony music if the ceremony takes place at the same address as the reception and within your 8 hours of service time.
What if we would like more than 8 hours?
After 8 hours, our fee is $100.00 per hour.
What is your fee for New Year's Eve?
We charge $1075.00 + GST.
What if my wedding is outside Toronto?
We are frequently asked to travel to Muskoka, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Eastern Ontario. We have a standard chart for kilometer charges and, if applicable, we ask for an overnight room for one DJ in proximity to the reception location.
Do you offer lights and dry ice?
We have two light show options available, as well as dry ice for the first dance. These can be provided for an additional fee. For safety reasons, we do not offer fireworks or bubble machines.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you provide 5 or more months notice, we will refund your full deposit, no questions asked. With less than 5 months notice, we will refund half the deposit or transfer the entire deposit to an event booked by a person or company referred to us by you.
Which DJ do we get?
We do not assign DJs at the time of booking. Every DJ is professional and equally qualified. There is no scale of seniority. In order to match the right DJ to your wedding, we ask that 2 months before the wedding you provide some details regarding your musical tastes, cultural background, and level of energy and interaction you require from the DJ. We will use this information to select the appropriate DJ, 3 to 6 weeks before the wedding.
Can you provide props, games and a DJ who also acts as the Master of Ceremonies?
Please call us to discuss how much DJ participation you want. Our standard practice is to introduce the bridal party, lead games to get the bride and groom to kiss and/or to give away centerpieces. We are also happy to sit back and let your own master of ceremonies take care of the public speaking.
Our main job is to play the music. We do not perform jokes or skits, lead conga lines or teach the latest dance moves. Our DJs show enthusiasm, take and play requests, and do their best to stimulate a fun-filled evening of music and dancing. They will not overstep the line of professionalism with inappropriate comments or conduct at the risk of embarrassing you, guests or Maximum Music.
